It's never too early to make a mock draft.
1. Titans- Jimmy Clausen QB, Notre Dame
It's not Sam Bradford's injury that caused him to drop from my top spot, it's the play of Jimmy Clausen this season. Jimmy has showed a lot of things that allow him to be the top QB of the class of 2010.
2. Buccanneers- Ndumukong Suh DT, Nebraska
The Bucs draft their new Warren Sapp to try to regain their old strength. Clearly Leftwich wasn't the answer, but Josh Freeman/Johnson will be in battle for the starting job. Raheem Morris has quite a task ahead of him. Work on both sides of the ball is really needed.
3. Rams- Sam Bradford QB, Oklahoma
I don't think that Bradford's shoulder surgery is much of a deterrent against his draft stock, as long as he has the measureables and great workouts in the spring, he should be just peachy for draft day.
4. Chiefs- Russell Okung OT, Oklahoma State
Scott Pioli traded for a decent QB in Cassel, who has a 73 QB rating so far this year, but he certainly doesn't make everyone around him better like a true franchise QB does. The whole problem doesn't lie with him though, the real problem is the offensive line. They've allowed the second most sacks this year. The best tackle in the draft will help immediately.
5. Browns-Jake Locker QB, Washington
We'll have to wait until after the combine and private workouts to see where each QB ranks. The Browns are a bad organization, in my opinion. They're giving up on Brady Quinn, who they traded into the first round to get in 2007. They're apparently benching him in order to save a few bucks? That is outrageous! If you invest a first round pick in a player, you've got to stick with your pick when it's this early in his career.
6. Lions- Eric Berry S, Tennessee
The Lions need to take the best available player because there simply is no other option since they are seriously lacking at so many positions. Detroit has got to stop the bleeding on defense. 30th against the pass will be improved with a pick like Berry. I think Berry is the best overall prospect in this class as of now, with Nebraska's Suh in second. This will be a good deal for the Lions to get him at 6.
7. Raiders- Carlos Dunlap DE, Florida
High potential with this pick, plus he has a good 40 time, which means that Al Davis will want him more than anything else his cold, old heart could desire. There's a good chance that Richard Seymour will want to get out of Oakland desperately by the time the offseason rolls around. The Raiders are dead last in defense, despite having some very talented players on that side of the ball.
8. Redskins- Trent Williams OT, Oklahoma
Chris Samuels is retiring and this whole team is falling apart. I'm reminded of the problems the Jaguars had last season: the offensive line was decimated by injuries and chemistry problems caused the wheels to fall off. What better way to restart than by drafting a very talented left tackle? (Ok, QB maybe).
9. Seahawks- Gerald McCoy DT, Oklahoma
The Seahawks really need an offensive tackle and running back, but might be able to get either later in the first round with their pick from Denver. The interior of their defensive line could use an upgrade over their current starters Mebane and Cole. (Who?). They're going to have to start looking toward the future. It doesn't look to bright at the running back and quarterback positions, either.
10. Dolphins- Jermaine Gresham TE, Oklahoma
Gresham, had he come out last year, would have been the best in the class, and the case is the same for him in 2010. He's out for the rest of his college career, so he'll have to prove he's 100% come time of the combine and medical exams. His talent is undoubtedly one of the best of 2010.
11. 49ers (from Panthers)- Taylor Mays S, USC
The 49ers need some help in their secondary. Without a doubt, Mays will remind 49er fans of Ronnie Lott. He's a big hitter and a playmaker. After last Sunday's performance by Alex Smith, who knows what the QB situation will be at the end of this season. This pick could easily be a QB by the time April rolls around.
12. Bills-Jevan Snead QB, Ole Miss
Snead isn't having the best year, but he is the type of QB the scouts like. Buffalo is a mess and Jauron will be gone, barring some miracle the rest of this season. I'm going to assume that Snead gets this season back on track and has a good combine and workouts in order to hold a possible first round grade.
13. 49ers- Joe Haden CB, Florida
San Fran's secondary could be stacked. They have two first round picks and they could build one of the most dominant secondaries in the league. The 49ers have already drafted for their D-line and they are solid at linebacker. They could stand to get better players around their core on offense as well (Gore, Davis, Crabtree).
14. Chargers- Bryan Bulaga OT, Iowa
The Chargers need help on their offensive line more than anything. That offensive rushing attack just shouldn't be 31st in the league after 6 weeks. LT and Sproles desperately need a better offensive line in front of them in order to be successful again. Will LT trade rumors pop up again after the season?
15. Jaguars- Rolando McClain LB, Alabama
The Jaguars are making the transition to a 3-4 defense, unfortunately, they barely have any of the personnel that they need in order to do it. They were going to play a hybrid 4-3/3-4 this year but losing Reggie Hayward didn't help. Rolando McClain will round out their already good linebacking corp. (Tebow is not a first round pick in my opinion. He'll be like Pat White was last year. Only earlier in the second round).
16. Bears- Dez Bryant WR, Oklahoma State
Anyone else think that Jay Cutler misses having a number one receiver? Brandon Marshall definitely helped Cutler, but is now helping Kyle Orton become a much better QB than he used to be. Bryant would be WR1, Hester WR2, and Knox would be one of the best slot receivers in the game with his speed paired with Hester's. Passing attack could also open up running game more for Forte who's having a sophomore slump.
17. Ravens- Arthur Jones DT, Syracuse
Finally the Ravens have an offense!...Damn, but their defense is in a steep decline. Trevor Price and Kelly Gregg are getting pretty old and it looks as if Ozzie Newsome needs to replenish his defensive line. Also, they could draft a LB for replacing Ray Lewis.
18. Jets- Damian Williams WR, USC
Williams and his former QB could be reunited in the Big Apple. Sanchez will be able to enjoy more sideline hot dogs if he gets a good second receiver. He could possibly end up the number one with the Braylon/Lebron friend situation.
19. Texans- CJ Spiller RB, Clemson
Man does the Texans' rush offense stink. Slaton had a good rookie year, but he can't be the number one back. The Texans will go to a two headed monster in their backfield and I think it would improve their offensive attack so much. Another need is at defensive back.
20. Eagles- Greg Hardy DE, Ole Miss
The Eagles defense needs a pass rusher on the opposite side of Trent Cole. Looking at their depth chart, the Eagles don't really look to be lacking very badly at any particular position. Come draft time, there will be more needs though.
21. Packers- Charles Brown OT, USC
Luckily for Ted Thompson, the best available player fits with the biggest need that they have. Too many sacks have been given up this year by the Packers offensive line. Protecting Aaron Rodgers should be of utmost importance, even if you might have to go away from your best player available strategy. Cornerback is also a need as Charles Woodson and Al Harris are getting older and older.
22. Cowboys- Terrence Cody DT, Alabama
Cody is a menacing defender clogging up the middle for Alabama. The thing about him is that he is having weight troubles. Also work ethic is in question to. Nonetheless, Cody is a first round pick and the Cowboys could use him, especially if Wade Philips is fired and they switch back to a 4-3.
23. Falcons- Brandon Graham DE, Michigan
Is it time for the Falcons to give up on Jamaal Anderson? He only has 2.5 career sacks in 37 games. I think the Falcons need more help on the line and I think Graham is great value here. If the Falcons can get their defense better, they'll be perennial playoff contenders.
24. Cardinals- Adam Ulatoski OT, Texas
The Cardinals are awful once again in the ground game. I think with a better offensive line, Tim Hightower and Beanie Wells will be able to establish more of a running attack, opening up the passing game even more for Kurt and the receivers.
25. Steelers- Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
It's been well documented that the Steelers' offensive line has been their weakness for the past 2 seasons. I think they address that need in the first round unlike last year's first rounder which was a defensive lineman (Ziggy Hood, DT).
26. Giants- Eric Norwood, OLB, South Carolina
The Giants got burned by Drew Brees and dropped the G-Men like a sack of potatoes. They will keep on adding to their defense, which has happened in the past. Coughlin just knows how to build a team.
27. Patriots- Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern
Bill Belichick and the Patriots are smart. They know how important your defensive front 7 and offensive lines are. They got a first rounder from Oakland (2011) and it was just genius.
28. Bengals- Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU
Give the Bengals credit. They have come back nicely from last year's bad record (5-10-1) and are playing nicely. I think an addition to the defensive line would help the pass defense. I really like Jerry Hughes, I think he'll become a sack master in the NFL.
29. Vikings- Colt McCoy QB, Texas
Tavaris Jackson, in my opinion, will be gone along with Brett Favre after this season is over. I don't see how they go back to Tavaris after Favre. But alot could change between now and the offseason. McCoy needs to prove that he can make up for his lack of arm strength.
30. Seahawks (from Broncos)- Jahvid Best RB, California
I think the Seahawks will ignore the offensive tackle position in the first round and go with a defensive tackle first, then take Best, the smallish RB from Cal. Best has shown this year that he can be a true weapon on offense, and that is what the Seahawks need, a spark on offense.
31. Colts- Brandon Spikes LB, Florida
The Colts drafted Moala from USC last year in the 2nd round to try to help their defensive tackle gap, so I think that they'll go with a very good linebacker in Spikes. I have Spikes dropping in this draft, which is fortunate for the Colts, if that happens. However, I do expect Spikes to be in the top 20 come April.
32. Saints- Trevard Lindley CB, Kentucky
The Saints don't really have a need anywhere else but defensive back. They are solid across the board and their record is showing it. I was really impressed by the way they beat the Giants a few weeks back, then had to come back against Miami. This team is the team to beat this year. They drafted Malcolm Jenkins last year, but Darren Sharper isn't getting any younger, even though he has a whopping 6 INTs and 3 TDs.

This is my first attempt at posting a mock draft in an actual blog. I didn't spend much time on this first one, but as we get closer to the actual draft time of year, that's when it'll get more in-depth and actually make more sense. It's never too early to make a mock draft.
1. Titans-Sam Bradford QB, Oklahoma
It would be perfect to see the Titans drafting at the number one spot and Jeff Fischer fired. They've got a great offensive line and running game, but the defense isn't what it used to be and the QB position is a huge problem.

Every other mock draft that I've seen has the Dolphins taking a linebacker. This is a given I think. But which linebacker? There are so many available here, the Dolphins might not be able to go wrong. I believe that Witherspoon is the best out of all of them.

I would like to think that this pick could be used in a packaged deal to send the 49ers up in the draft in order to allow them to draft a QB. Since trades aren't predicted here, I'm going to give them a safety to help out with that pass defense ranking.

The Eagles just traded for Will Witherspoon, but they'll still need another linebacker since their linebackers may be hitting up free agency. McNabb is getting Alzheimer's...first he doesn't know the OT rules, now this year he forgot how many timeouts per half his team gets.

22. Broncos (from Bears)- Travis Lewis, LB, Oklahoma
The Broncos have really surprised me this year. Orton has a big time receiver and he's taking advantage. Someh0w the Broncos defense has gone from one of the worst to first. Jeremy McDaniels will hopefully have better luck with personnel this next offseason than he did last.

Tavaris Jackson, in my opinion, will be gone along with Brett Favre after this season is over. I don't see how they go back to Tavaris after Favre. But alot could change between now and the offseason.
30. Seahawks (from Denver)- Jahvid Best, RB, California
Seattle desperately needs a rushing attack. Best has put himself in the forefront of this year's draft class of running backs. He's a big smallish, but we've seen from Maurice Jones-Drew and Darren Sproles that little men can pack big punches.
31. Colts- Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama
The Colts really need help at defensive tackle. I think taking Cody will put a clog in any rush offense that they'll play. Indianapolis and Bill Polian would be wise to take a big stuffer such as Cody.
32. Saints- Nate Allen, S, USF
The Saints don't really have a need anywhere. They are solid across the board and their record is showing it. I was really impressed by the way they beat the Giants. This team is the team to beat this year.
